04 Spec-V Internals?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Anyone know of a good company that has internals for our lil beasts? I'm going to do my best to get the turbonetics turo kit by March, and would like to upgrade the internals at the same time.

.

Well there is really no simple way to answer your question. It all depends what exactly you are wanting to do to the car. You can't just buy aftermarket parts and expect everything to work out the way you want them to. I know someone that built up their block on a ITR. They bought a lot of nice stuff but didn't research them to see if the parts go well with each other and needless to say his numbers on the dyno were not nearly what he was wanting after tuning the car.

If you are going to run stock boost (~8psi) on the turbonetics kit then there is not really a need for internals unless you just like shelling out a lot for cash cause they aren't cheap.

However I know CP Pistons makes some aftermarket pistons for the QR. JWT makes cams, springs, clutch, flywheel, etc.. for the car. Nismo makes cams. Ferrea makes a complete valvetrain for the QR (springs, retainers, valves).

One of the guys on another Nissan board is having a full internal build done.

AEBS makes sleeves for our motor. He's also getting new pistons and rods that are a hell of alot more sturdy. His thought is that he is going to build an NA beast.

I don't know if you're on the B15 board, but if you are, his name there is JoelAZ. He's the man to talk to if you want to know anything about the QR25DE motor.

I was really just looking for new pistons and rods to prevent any real damage that could occure by installing the turbo kit. Everyone tells me the stock ones are too cheap to handle any kind of turbo upgrade. Plus it would be nice to crank the boost to 12 every now and then and not worry . Thanks for the advice though.

From what I have read on other boards, the QR25DE is safe to about 8.5 or 9.

I have actually got a PTI setup on my 02 and yes they are still around however they stopped mass producing the kits. They changed their website to http://www.powertechperformance.com/

I like how the car is with the turbo. The install wasn't the easiest and required a little finesse to make it work but it got installed. I thought the initial dyno numbers were decent but I am going to retune it after I get a wideband O2 and hopefully pull some better numbers. Mine dynoed at 239whp on 8psi on a Dyno Dynamic Dyno which reads a lot lower than a Dynojet. According to the adjustment that you can do to the Dyno Dynamics readout the Dynojet number should be close to 270whp.

My only real goal is to hit the 300whp mark which should easily be done on 11psi and I will be pleased.

From what I have seen people seem to be getting pretty consistent results with all the turbo kits out right now with the newest being Turbonetics.
