About four months ago, my front passenger window on my 04 G35X began intermittently working and not working. Roughly a month ago, it quit out on me completely. I smell a funky burning smell when sitting in the passenger side seat only.

The driver side switch for the passenger window doesn't work.

The door randomly doesn't lock by the fob. -not always-

We replaced the window motor today and that didn't help.
After leaving the battery unhooked for fifteen minutes, the passenger side switch produced a click but the motor did not run. Further attempts didn't even produce the click.

I'm at my wits' end. Most of the DIY posts are geared towards coupes and I'm not sure if I'm missing an important step with my sedan? Help? =)

Make sure the window lock is not activated on the driver's switch. You may need to used a voltmeter at the passenger window motor to see if it is getting power and then determine if it is a switch problem on the driver side or the passenger side.

Definitely not the window lock. ;)

SO. Caved and took it in to my mechanic where he tried a bunch of different things and ultimately discovered that there was a short in the switch that was telling the window to keep going up, even when it was completely up- this eventually caused the window motor to burn out. Replaced driver side switch, passenger side switch, and window motor. Hopefully this is helpful if anyone else has a similar problem...

Yeah, I hate electrical issues. The FSM is available for troubleshooting as well since it should tell you what voltages should be seen for each pin of the switches.
