04 QX56 starts but won't move

I have had the car for a few weeks and it now won't move forward or reverse. It drove and shifted normally until a couple of days ago. I got in it to leave in the morning and no go. it never had transmission symptoms of any kind before. the engine will rev when in gear or in park and neutral.
