I have an 01, I changed the HU and added a sub and now it sounds great. might be just the HU. The equalizer on my deck is set to play pretty much just mids and highs out of the bose speakers while my subs do the bass workK03sport wrote:I will agree with you on the '04 BOSE sounding like crap.
BOSE did not do their homework and neither did Nissan. The coustics of the PF do not work with the speaker arrangement. The soundstage is way off and so is the tone.
I think the tweeters are too far from the woofers in the door causing too much stage separation.
Problem is, I'm not sure what the problem is...is the problem with the head unit or is the problem with the BOSE amp or is it a combination of both.
Most systems have issues with poorly performing HUs and so a simple swap and then everything sounds great.
The PF really needed a separate woofer so the door speakers weren't pulling double duty.
Thats Hilarious is that yours? why not use a black drive if anythingPwnin O’Brien wrote:Personally I like this one...
It plays CD's at 52x! That's some fast CD reading.
Hahahahahahaha no, it's not mine. I saw it today while I was browsing one of my nerdy tech blogs.slickroger wrote:

I said this in another post but in case you didn't read it.
If you want to use the bose speakers you can use the speaker lines that are hooked to the original HU. The only thing extra you have to do is use the amp turn on wire that is already supplied. The reason people have problems is they hook up a new deck hook up all existing wires and cant figure out why the speakers wont play. The reason they wont play is because all the stock speakers are run off amps of there own and these amps also need to be turned on by a remote wire.
