My mileage dropped off a cliff and the check engine light came on about a month after the mileage went out the window. I stopped by Advance and had the code read. He said it said bank 1 lean and said the 02 sensors on the front are gone. How hard are these to replace and does someone have a link or pics of a HOW To. I can get the 02 sensors locally and would like to try them this weekend while it is nice and not hot yet. Thanks

Could you post the codes that were pulled so we can ensure which sensors are bad? Has your gas mileage dropped?

I've never replaced any of the front O2 sensors, only one rear, so I'm not sure how the leverage is without removing anything else. You'll need a 22mm (preferable) or 7/8" O2 sensor socket. See pages EC-27 and EC-29 of the factory service manual for their location and their harness connector locations.

The guy at advance never told me the codes specifically. He just told me bank one lean and said that is usually a left o2 sensor. I didnt tell hem anything about my mileage, but as stated it fell off a cliff. I went from 250 a tank on a good week to about 200 limping into the gas station with the gas light on.

after looking at the parts. I see two types. The first is a universal that is way cheaper, but I have to wire that in correct? The second is the 02 sensor with the plug. Basically if I can get my hands on them and unscrew them out, I should just be able to screw the new ones back in and plug them up?

Bank 1 is the passenger side on our engine. Advance Auto Parts' pricing for oxygen sensors is ridiculous. Purchase this direct-fit NTK sensor from RockAuto for $40.65 before shipping with 5% off discount code 87101397174280 entered into the "How Did You Hear About Us?" box during checkout.

I need your manufacturing date, please. Also, it'd be cheaper to get this specific application's sensor from Advance Auto Parts due to the availability of discount codes; you can get likely the sensor for around $50. If there's no AAP near you, I'll check Amazon and RockAuto for the better price.

My production date was 12/3. I would love to know the part numbers as well. I was being quoted 100 bucks locally for the left side and up to 195 for back banks. If the rock auto parts are 50 bucks, I am going to go with that option.

I don't need your production date - I was talking to asnorton44. I've already linked to the correct part you need in my other reply (click the blue text). :)
