'04 G35x - won't start?

Hello:

I have been digging around a bit, but can't seem to find anything relevant to this - its quite odd...

The story:

My wife starts up the G this morning - backs it out of the garage this AM - shifts to drive from reverse - thinks the transmission was "slipping" - decided to pull back in the garage (in drive) and tell me and drives off in the Denali. I went out an hour later to go to work and the car will not start - no click - nothing. I turn the key to start and nothing happens - all lights are on on the dash - beeping all looks normal, but no starter engagement. I tried shifting to neutral with brake on and trying again thinking it may be the trans position sensor? again nothing. Back in park nothing (why not try the same thing again and expect a different outcome?)

Where do I start troubleshooting this one? I put the battery on the trickle charger before I jumped on my bike to go to work, its a new battery, but she did say something about back passenger door was left open overnight.... I did drive the car about 250 miles yesterday without a hitch... and now this...

Well the fact that the door was left open all night is the best clue
Just because the battery is new doesn't mean it can't have a weak cell
I have a battery hydrometer to check for weak cells that do not accept a full charge



Try jump starting when the wife gets home or call AAA for a jump start

A new part of the saga - I noticed when I was looking at the car that the dash display which usually says "P" or "N" or whatever gear the car is in does not show anything - it is in effect blank. I checked all fuses - nothing blown. Reset computer by pulling the battery for 2-3 minutes. Turned on ignition and moved gear shift through all gears - put back in park - tried again same result.

The starter will not even click - nothing happens when i turn the key.

Is there a tow and a big bill in my future?
