Just purchased a couple of blank ignition keys. Wondering if any of you guys have the instructions on how to program them?

Also, purchased my vehicle a couple of weeks ago. Carfax noted that the vehicle is still under warranty. It has 45k on it. Would the dealer confirm if this is still active? What would be covered?

Hey, thanks for the link. But is this for a key or the remote? Seems it's for programming the remote.

Hmm, woops - my bad. You cannot program the ignition key on your own, or at least i have not found a way to do so - the ignition keys are "smart" and require special programming to do so. I don't believe there is a way to do it without the dealer doing it for you...

The car has a 60k mile warranty on it, but only for 4 years - its possible the car is out of the time period. You can check with the dealer on that as well.

How does anyone drive such an exciting car for only 45,000 miles in 4 years?

Where did you find the blank keys, and how much are they apiece? I think if I had a blank the dealer would program it for $50 dollars.ThanksDan

I put only 46k on my 03 coupe in 5 years. Why put all those miles driving to work in urban traffic on such a nice car. That's what the 15 year old junker is for.(93 Mercury Cougar,84 Bmw(real junk),and 91 RX7at various times during those 5 yrs)
