I'm thinking of changing from the original all-season 215/55-17 tires on my 2004 G35 sedan to a wider (equal radius) all-season 235/50-17. I live in the Toronto area, so snow is a concern, but I'm seeing good overall & snow reviews on Toyo Proxes TPT and Yokohama Advan S.4. in the 235 size. I have concerns over change in ride? Change in handling? Poor snow handling? Sidewalls appear to bulge out too far from rim ?

I'm hoping that someone who's installed the wider option can advise on any of my 4 concerns. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

235/50 is the widest you can run safely. Only factor that will be noticeable is steering response, but you aren't concerned with that if we are talking about snow tires.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess that I could get around the reduced steering response issue with 215/55-17 in front and 235/50-17 rear?
