HiI have an 04 G35 and recently the Cd Player has started to act funny. If I step on brake the left hand speakers stop working and when I step on gas they start working. If i have the system on radio everything works fine, its only on cd mode it starts giving such problems. I have tried to switch cds but its not helping me. Anyone has any idea what could be the problem ??

I have the exact same problem on my '04 sedan. When it happens, give your center console a good knock, it can sometimes alieviate the problem. I think I read about this a while ago, certain wires or part of the wireharness is wedged or pinched on some part of the frame(but this would not account for the cd only issue). When the brakes are hit the chassis flex(I figure) is pulling/tugging/pinching/whatever on those wires. I do plan to pull the centre console this summer to inspect it. I am hoping it's just the connector on the head unit, we shall see.. My other theory is the headunit itself needs repair, perhaps a loose trace or wire, bad solder point, etc.

Hmm but my issue is some what strange, if i turn it to radio everything works fine all the speakers work. Its when I put it on CD it starts acting funny, when i hit the console it gets better but then again as soon as i apply the brakes it goes back same. I tried using CD cleaner that didnt help, the cd reads fine it can even read a blind cd. I am thinking there is something lose in the amplifier, or something is not working right in there...I am also thinking of opening the console or may be changing the whole unit, I was looking into used systems but I dont know what issues I will run into by putting used system in it.....Any not so expensive solution of getting it replaced ?? any suggestions ??

I had the same exact issue with my 2004 g35 coupe. Try playing non-burned cd's. The cd player acts weird ONLY when playing burned cd's. I searched the forums in depth looking for a resolution......sorry to say, there is none. The 2003-2004 had a lot of kinks that you may have to deal with. THE SOLUTION: buy an after market stereo system complete with speakers, amplifier and stereo face. That's what I did and it cost me about $800. They sell the double din brackets for stereo receivers online. Look into it.

Good luck!

Add me to the list. Mine only goes out when I'm cutting hard to the right. A smack on the console with my hand or knee fixes it temporarily. I was hoping there would be an easy fix on here too. Oh well, still love the car.

yes sir, same problem here!! on radio its fine but on cd's driver side speaker play real low. Give your dash a god hard smack with the palm of your fist. hit it on the corner of your stereo closest to you, it will come on!!!
