Hey guys i've been reading up on other peoples issues with this and i just have a few questions. My transmission or something in that region has been doing the whining thing on cold starts. i'm using the right weight GL4 gear oil and my transmission has never grinded a gear on a cold start or warmed up. could this mean something in my clutch assembly is making the noise? i've had the car since 45k miles and it just broke the 70k mile point. it started doing this when winter hit and started getting cold out but it did not do it last winter. thanks guys.

Take it to the dealer...they'll replace the transmission. Same thing happened to my 05.

how is that possible if i dont have it under warranty? I'm sure they will replace it for a hefty price. I just dont understand why it does it on cold starts and not when its warm outside? after the car warms up it goes away.

There is a powertrain warranty...you may still be good. Call the dealer!

powertrain is 6yr 70K miles. What are you at...if only a few miles over they might be willing to cover it.
