Hi,The A/C for my G35 coupe is not cold . When I turn the A/c on, i see the RPM rise a bit , but even running the fan at the highest speed, the car doesnt get that cold. Can somebody suggest what could be wrong ? Should I take it to the dealer? The dealers are a rip-off though.

The RPM rise indicates that your compressor is kicking on (you should hear a click and the radiator fans should be on).

First, make sure that your settings are correct. For hot days, to turn on my AC, I hit the "+" button for the fan to kick on. The temp is set to 66*. This will ensure you're using the manual mode. Once the air is cold, I turn up the temp 75*, and hit the AUTO button.

Remember that the AC should cool the outside air by 30 degrees max...should be nice and cool this time of year, and in the NE.

If it's still not working like it should, you could try a recharge of freon...a small shop should be able to do it inexpensively...

Also, if it's out of freon, then it's also probably out of oil, so you should NOT run it anymore until you get it checked....or you could damage the compressor.
