I would say might be a partial flooding coupled with the humid weird weather we are working on in this side of country.
It happens from time to time. The smoke and long crank probably are working together.
Best advise I can give you is give the ole G a few miles of spirited driving. High engine load, but not abusive. Once you start to smell it your in the zone. Drive it for several miles to make sure the cats are clear and make sure the injector tips are nice and hot.
As they age they can choke themselves on fuel sometimes accidentally. If it happens only once and a great while you shouldn't need anything major.

Especially in the coupes. I techs who have worked on many cars who do not do these well. It is not something I would advise the DIY'er to do themselves. Lining up that window takes some practice.
