Alright, I know it's been asked a million times, but for some reason my search couldn't find an answer.

Is there anything in specific I should look for to be wrong? I've seen so far:

Clicking LSDuneven tire wearcheck to see if fuel filler hose has been replaced and/or is cracked

Anything else I should look for?

I'm going back again to take another drive and look at this car in sunlight on wednesday.

I'm guessing your looking to get a used 350z and looking for 350z related problems to inspect?Clutch feel, clutch travel, Transmission syncros or any unusual grinding during shifting and if it's slipping.. How's the interior plastics?, Any wierd smells in the cabin (could indicate mold from water damage), Window door seals and if the power windows are operating properly (has been some issues), any unsual idling sounds from the vq like metallic tapping or uneven idle, check the battery voltage on the gauge as well as oil pressure. it should be in their normal ranges at idle and under higher rpms.

Belts & hoses, body paint, body panel alignments (unless ur sure it hasn't been in an accident)

Drive it see how it feels (tire with flat spots) and listen for any rattling (interior components & improperly hung exhaust etc.).

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply samej82!

You nailed it right on the head. I've done a little homework on the Z's but not too much. I've been around cars for quite a while, so I know the basics of what to look for (excessive valve chatter, rod knocks, etc...), but was just looking for problems specific to the Z. You nailed that on the head too!

Thanks again for the reply!

EDIT: Also, I'm looking to figure out which package this car is, is there a certain character in the VIN # I should look for to tell me this? Or does the VIN have to be run as a whole to figure it out?

when looking for a good used cobra, I was very concerned about the syncros. Expecially 2nd gear. I would wind out first pretty good and shift into second with the RPM's up high. If the syncros were bad, it would grind and be hateful.

I also was trying to find out what model (base, enthus, perform, touring) a 2004 Z was that I'm looking at. I went to carsdirect.com and compared 2004 model Z specs to determine that the one I'm looking at is a enthus.

Just FYI, it isn't the LSD that clicks, its the axle bolts.

Everything for that year has been covered. Look for the uneven tirewear, the axle bolts, and the automatic windows working right. Those are the major ones. I've had all those with my 03.

Thanks a ton guys! I went by there again last night and felt the tires and don't feel any uneven wear.

It's an entusiast package as far as I can tell. It has HID's, and LSD but I didn't see the VCD, and it doesn't have an aero package. Car was locked, though, so I didn't get to see too much of the inside, it's tinted DARK.

Thanks NSR

Going to head out early from work today to go take a look at it, possibly come home with it tonight, if not tonight I'll have to wait another week, as I don't have a day off again
