i have an 03 xterra it has about 46000 miles it is over heating at idle but cools down when u rev up the rpm's need some help please????

Replace the thermostat, or:

When starting to overheat just a little, see whether you can feel both hoses coming in and out of the rad. If both are hot, then you're ok. Difference in temperature feel may be an indication of a clog. Also feel the surface of the rad. itself. If there are cold spots, you have a clogged radiator.

Replacing the radiator is an easy DYI job. Only 2 bolts hold it on & both are on top of the radiator.
