So a few months ago I installed a line out converter and subs into my Q, when I was installing I noticed that the left rear door speaker wasn't working I pulled the door panel and couldn't find anything wrong. Fast forward 2 months and now the left front door speaker isn't working also. I haven't looked into it much yet and now my radio isn't working on fm channels it was crackling and popping a little bit now won't work at all even though am stations still work fine. Anyone have experienced a problem like this?? Would it be easier to bypass the factory amp and just install aftermarket speakers and amp??

It's a 18 year old car. It could be because you tapped the speakers outputs for the subs. Bose systems are a different animal. They have odd speaker impedances (like 1 ohm) and odd amp outputs. Any altering of Bose systems could cause other components to fail, like replacing a speaker with aftermarket one. Try to figure out if the speaker is bad or the amp. One way is check with a known good speaker (like the one on the right side). Or check the amp's output, with a o-scope. Swap out components easiest to change first- speaker/amp/HU. If that doesn't fix it, you need to chek the wires for damage.

Supposedly the speakers are bulletproof. One source says the issue is probably the amplifier. They can be had fairly cheaply on eBay. Unfortunately I cannot find the link that explained this.

It could also be the head unit. I would say this is your problem.

The line out converter isn't really necessary. The head unit output should be pre-amp. If you tapped the output off the amp (in the trunk rear shelf, I believe) then a LLC used. I think your car has a amp sub output to the factory subwoofer. Not sure what the frequency cutoff is, probably pretty high since its a free air sub type.

I tapped into the amp output to the factory sub. The reason I installed a loc is because I installed a mtx 1500d mono block amp and 2 mtx 9500 thunder subs and 0 gauge power and ground wiring. I've done more reading into this and my tpms malfunctions randomly and looses signal with all 4 corners and now the fm stations randomly come in and out and sometimes the left side speakers and the left and center tweeters cut out and sometimes the right front door and tweeter cut out. So I've kinda figured out that i have to replace the audio/navigation control module since the sensors are malfunctioning also...

Have you considered running the sub signal off the rear left and right, positive from one and negative off the other? BTW, I have a amp from a 2003 M45 that i don't need.

If you cannot figure out what is coming out of the main feed it may be time to rebuild the Bose Speakers. Unfortunately the amp is built into the speaker, there are places you can send the unit and they send it back to you refreshed. I was going to have to send one of mine in soon as it was cutting in and out but sold it before I had to deal with it.

Its a 2003 Q45, the 3rd gen F50 platform. It has a bose amp that is mounted under the rear deck lid. I think only the G50 had individual amps on the speaker units. Not sure about the 2nd gen Y33
