03 Q Intelligent Cruise Quit

Intelligent cruise quit on 03 Q45. Dealer says it is the front laser. Does anybody have a solution other than OEM replacement? Dealer wants $1,800 to fix. Can you somehow bypass? Use an aftermarket? Fix the existing laser? Aftermarket replacement? Any help would be great.

Most folks just live with it when the device breaks. See what kind of price you can get for a new device at InfinitiPartsUSA and just have it installed at the dealership or some other experienced shop.

Does that mean you have no cruise control at all? If so could you replace the intelligent cruise control with a standard one at a much lower price? Another example of cars getting too complicated. Didn't someone post that his intelligent cruise control would stop his car if he went through a tunnel, a potentially dangerous situation.

I believe the cruise control still works....however, the "intelligence" feature doesn't. If the entire cruise control system stops working because the laser fails...that sucks.

As for the ICC not working in a tunnel...that makes sense to me from a safety perspective.
