Seems to be the same problem that others have already posted about but I have not found anyone saying what the fix is.
In stop and go traffic the car does not accelerate when the gas peddle is pressed. It takes about 8 seconds with the gas peddle down and then all of a sudden it kicks into gear and takes off. If you shut off the car and start back up the problem is gone for a while. I would think that it is a sensor or computer but not sure.
HELP!!

Most often the problem has been a damaged or defective CVT transmission, and the fix is replacement of the entire transmission. Also with the Rogue this problem has been related to a bad brake sensor, resulting in the ECU being confused because it does not sense any braking and as a result it stays in the highest gear ratio.

Luckily for you your CVT transmission has a 10 year, 200,000 km warranty so if it is the CVT you'll be getting it replaced for free. Better make an appointment with Nissan ASAP, it's not safe to drive the car in this condition.
