If I manually hold the front passenger (or driver side switch) swtich, the window will go up and stay up. If I operate the swtich for "One Touch Up" by pulling either driver side or the passenger side up the window raises fully then reverses down 1/4.

Is this in the motor a separate control unit or controlled by both power window swtiches ?

It sounds like both front window anti-pinch system limit switches need to be adjusted (the procedure to do this is on page GW-60 in my 04 FSM).

But it's unlikely that both switches would have gone out of adjustment simultaneously. Usually one or the other would need to be adjusted, and then only after work has been done on one of the windows or doors. Maybe both of yours were worked on recently? Or, possibly, both have been out of adjustment since you got the car or since it was new?

I had to do this recently on my daughter's Quest, after her car was broken into and the driver's side window was replaced. It was super easy to do on the Quest - after popping off the door panel, you only need to press a reset button while operating the window switch. It looks like the window motor has to actually be unbolted from the regulator to reset the switch on the early Mos, however. Let us know what you find.
