I recently added a megan b cat test pipe to my 03 6mt se max.I also deleted the resonator and threw in a k&n replacement filter. It seems to have lost all bottom end and is pretty snappy from about 4 grand to redline.Im thinking maybe not enough back pressure or maybe needs a cai.I don't like the power delivery and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions if i should put the stock cat back on or do something else to help it out a little bit in the low revs ?

usually removing the cat will kill the bottom end, but give you more power up top. Good for drag racing, not so good for daily driving.

I think it's best for the overall performance (most of the time you are using the bottom end) and also the environment to keep the cat in there.

Plus, with out a resonator or a cat, your car is probably loud and has very little back pressure at all.

sounds about right to me.It's not really that loud at all it sounds kind of like a 350 z or a g.screams pretty good on top but no more low.I kind of liked the way it was zippy down low before.

the air stored in the airbox gives the engine a better response in the low-end but loses out when trying to suck in air on the top-end.

theres really no reason to take out the cat. only if you're running a massive amount of hp and the oe cat is very restricting (replace with hi-flow cat perhaps) and its a track car. keep it on and to avoid spending more to pass smog checks.
