hi am new to the nissan forum so ho to every one, i just bought a 03 maxima GLE with about 42000 miles on it i bought it cuz the miles and the price, but after a few days i started to hear a rattle noise in the front, specially going over bumps its kind of loud like a lot of thing are just moving, any ways i took it to the local Meineke Shop, and they told me that my front struts were leaking, the total price is $845 so i dont know if i should fix it or sell it, what do guys think ....

Take it to another shop first of all just to get it double checked. From what your describing it sounds like the same issue I had in my Maxima.. But it was a couple of the engine/ transmission mounts and had nothing to do with the struts. Infact just take it to Nissan. If anyone they are going to know best whats typically going to go wrong first with these cars and will know what to look for. They will check it out for free and tell you how much it will be to fix.

Oh and welcome to Nico! Its a great place!

My I30 makes that sound too, I changed the bushings & checked the struts they are fine, i think it is a transmission or engine mount.

That is not always the case, you should call ahead first. Becasue of the noise over bumps, it is associated with all moving suspension/steering components. Most likely, if your struts are leaking they need replacing, but it could also be your stabalizer links/ends too. If you plan on selling, are you dropping the price so that an educated buyer that knows suspensions will pay accordingly?

thanks all you for tha comments, its kind of weird, when i make the front end bounce the front end just goes up and down fast, but the more i push down it gets stiffer, the same when am driving, when i first drive the sound is loud, but if the road is a long bumpie one, the sond is not as loud as before, any ways i'll try the dealer, i just wanted to avoid the dealer cuz, i allready had a bad moment with them *** holes...... yall think that it might be covered by the power train warranty..??
