Post

I recently bought a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE and currently have an analog control unit. i.e. I have the turn dial with 1-4 on it. I want to “upgrade” to the digital unit and would like to know if anything else would be needed for this to work. I have done something similar to a previous car and other parts were needed to make the unit function properly. I am just trying to make sure I can just switch the units and call it a day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I also think that the auto climate control cars had more components to them, the first that comes to mind is the amplifier, that is located near the blower, in the path of incoming air. Those are different IIRC, including some sensors that gauge the in-cabin temp.

I'm sure someone has done it, but while waiting for a direct link from someone else, I'll offer this to you. NICOclub usually hosts factory service manuals (FSMs) on our site. I'd look through the A/C or HVAC section and see what differences the manual shows and how it describes the function of the system. I have linked the manual in my signature below.
