Im new on here and just recently purchased a majestic blue 03 max se. When i bought the car i noticed the clutch grabbed good but was a little spongy. I ve been bleeding it for the past two weeks trying to get it to grab better and it seems to be ok right after its bled until the next day it seems to get spongy again. I have never seen a car give me so much trouble with a clutch. The car just hit 42k miles and an older guy owned the car before me and i havn't hammered on it so i doubt the clutch took too much of a poundin yet.The fluid is clean and is not leaking.I 've bled it from both bleeders and can't figure it out.It seems when your taking off from a dead stop you almost have to burn it i tiny bit to get it going but once the car starts pulling it will rip a real nice 2nd with no slip even 3rd and 4th is pretty snappy.I really need some help on this one,i also tried i one way remote bleeder and that made it worse.I don't know if theres a certain tool or way it should be bled or if thats even the problem.Any help here would be sent from above please help me before i lose my mind thanks.

Have you bled the line that comes up by the shock tower on the driver side? That made a difference on mine.

Yeah, mine is kind of the same way. It's better than it was when I got it, but it's still a wretched feeling clutch. I replaced the pressure plate and disc with an exedy stock replacement for a 350z and a spec flywheel, without any real change in feel. I'm having a friend make up a braided stainless line from the master to the slave and see if that makes any difference.

the z clutch should be a little more snappy than the max.Thers gotta be something were overlooking ? if you sit at an idle and pump your clutch in nuetral 10-15 times and then go to take off does it grab better ? mine does thats the weird part i don't get.

The clutch itself is grabbing the same, or at least I think it is. I honestly have no clue why it is doing what it is, never had anything like this in any other car that I have owned.

clutch has now gotten worse than before wtf, that braided line might help cuz i heard the tube sometimes dry rots or cracks and there is an adjustment for the clutch free play up under the pedal but you have to be carefull playing around with that cuz you can screw it up easy i heard.does your clutch grab good but when its almost all the way out and only grabs in one spot ? cuz thats what mine is doin fml.

If anything, I think mine grabs a little low. The big issues with mine are that there is no feel to it, and that if I'm reving up to redline before shifting the pedal gets really soft. I'll talk to my friend about making some up. I just ordered what I think is the adapter fittings to go to the slave and the master, so hopefully I'll get a chance to put in a line sometime next week.

Mine does the same thing after 5 grand it gets softer and has no resistance.my mechanic says he thinks its a pressure plate but i disagree. One way or another i'll figure this out....i hope. What do you think about a bad master or slave ??

My thoughts are leaning towards the damper line that Nissan put in. I know the 240 crowd says it's a day and night difference when they pull theirs out, so I can only assume that it would apply to our cars as well. I'm going to call and have the braided line made up for me tomorrow probably. I should be able to give a verdict on it next weekend.

sounds like you might have it figured out.are the fittings on the master and slave threaded from the factory or did you have to get them ? let me know how it turns out and hope you have better luck than me.

hey man, just thought id let you know that i replaced that rubber hose that goes from the slave to the junction box today and it feels like a new clutch.the part was 35 dollers and about an hour to install and bleed the system.if your still having the same problem i would try that asap. :dblthumb:
