Damn I'm still trying to figure this out.

Do I need to change anything on the head unit harness? We have the 70-7551 harness with RCA's. Might just run new speakerwires and change harnesses...this is getting really frustrating. I'm suppose to hook, Positive IN to Positive Out correct? and Neg IN to Neg OUT for each speaker...But it's like wisper quiet...

I wish someone had some input for me. My girlfriend called the stereo shop in town and they told her this. Does this sound right? At this point it looks like we are going to just run new wires, but i wish I hadn't spent so much time on the bose AMP harness

"If you cut the amp out of the equation you must run the wires directly to the speaker outputs on theheadunit because the RC cables do not have enought power to run the door speakers without theeamp connected. You could have left the amp connected and the speakers would have worked finebut they would have been soft. "

So just so I'm sure we are on the same page, you got a harness that plugged the rca outputs and didn't use the speaker wires from the deck? If that is the case, you'll just need to re-wire it to use the speaker wire outputs instead.

yeah, we bought the one with the rca's because we wanted to keep the bose speakers, but now we swapped those with jl's, We also have the 70-7550 wire harness here, i'll go swap them out, I didn't even think of that. Then what I wired should be right! lol, I"ll go give it another shot!
