Hi, guys.

The temperature in IL dropped about 20 F in 2 days. It causes me the washer fluid issue. I checked the washer hose under the hood. It was frozen and I didn't hear any pump noise too. Does anyone know how to replace the pump and hoses?

How long is the hose?

Thanks,

Ryan.

Ouch. :( Sorry to hear this!

Did you have plain water in there? If so, I know I am stating the obvious after the fact, but it might be better to use some windshield washer fluid rather than plain water ...

Anyway, I'd look at the Service Manual (link is in my sig) for replacement details and information. You can get parts from the other link in my sig for www.everythinginfiniti.com - if it does not show on their web site, please call them, since they are very helpful to us NICO members.

I didn't put plain water but did use a cheap washer fluid from somewhere. It was fine until 2 days ago.

I was fortunate enough to notice that the summer Wal-Mart washer fluid (something tech) sold in the summer is rated to not freeze above 32°F (freezing). As such, I bought some brand-name winter fluid rated not to freeze above -20°F and used my washers a lot until the summer stuff was about gone. I don't know why Wal-Mart would sell summer stuff this far north, but if they do, I'm sure other places do.

I think the walmart one caused the problem.

Anyway, I replaced a washer pump today. There were only 3 bolts to hold the washer tank after took the splash guard out. In my case, about 1/3 of the tank was filled with ice. Using a flat head screw driver, I remeved all the ice and poured hot water to rinse small ice debrises. I took me about 1 hour.

*Notice: I bought the washer pump from Advance autoparts but the terminal wasn't fit. Napa had the one with peeled wires instead of terminal. I cut the original terminal out and then connected wires to wires with screw connectors. It works perfectly.

Thanks.
