My 2003 M45 has this problem with white smoke at startup. It's going through both coolant and oil a bit faster than I'd expect. I've heard this is a common problem on the 03-04 M, but i've never heard what the problem commonly is. Anyone else run into this?

I'd guess it was a head gasket leak, which is an odd problem for a car with less than 30K miles.

ouch! burning coolant and oil! No, this isnt common with the 03 04 M, atleast not to my knowledge. I remember from the my old acura legend forum day; this may be a bad head gaskette(sp) Take it in ASAP and find out what your first in service day was and you warranty sould be good for 4 years after that date.

Definitely have the dealer take a look at this asap. With 30k miles and (hopefully) less than 4 years, you should be able to get them to fix whatever is an issue!
