I've got an issue with my 03 m45. At night when I turn on my headlights, the lights for the gauges, center console (a/c. audio buttons etc) turn off. The big LCD screen is not affected by this.

It's weird. At night, I will start my car, turn the headlights on and start driving, and everything will be fine. Then, after driving a little bit, the gauge and center console lights shut off, but again, the large center LCD is not affected. It is a pain b/c I cannot see how fast I am going or how much gas is left.

I have tried adjusting the brightness buttton left of the steering wheel, no luck. As you know on the 03 M45's, during daylight, the speedometer gauge lights are ALWAYS on, then dim a little when you turn on the headlights. I have tried switching from auto headlight feature as well and no luck.

Has anybody had this issue?? This issue just started last night. Does anybody think it may be simple as a fuse needing replacing? I do have the Platinum Warranty through Infiniti, but I don't have time to take it to the dealership right now.

I appreciate any assistance anybody may have with this issue.

If a fuse was bad it would be blown and the lights would more than likely never come on. I would say you have a dimmer switch issue.Good luck

Any ideas on how to address the dimmer switch?

Have the dealership take a look at it when you get a moment. It will probably have to be replaced if it is faulty.

Unfortunately had to send to dealer, replaced dimmer, covered under Infiniti extended warranty. on the bright side, I got a 07 G35 as a loaner for a few days. nice car, much faster than my M, but acceleration is somwhat abrasive and abrupt. nice change of pace though. good call on the dimmer -SK
