first of all i want to say what's up to all m45 owners! ok here is my situation. my brother in law owns a 93 300zxtt and he feels that my car is a nice luxury car but has no chance against his z! as a matter of fact he offered to let me leave first and he will still beAT ME! personally i think he's crazzzy!!!!! but you never know. i have this on a nother post but i wanna here more opinions on this race because i am putting money on the line now!I DO FEEL CONFIDENT THAT I WILL WIN THIS RACE BUT I WANT SOME FEED BACK FROM OTHER M45 OWNERS. even though i know the odds are against me,the race is still on because he really talked some serious trash about the m and he doesnt understand that this buety is really a beast!!

i dont know that year had about 300hp and it is light!!! A quick way to find out is calculate the power to weight ratio and then you will see what your up against....there other factors during a race like driver error..launch etc.

But it sounds like it would be close provided he has no mods...but if he does...you'll probably be paying money

well hold on i am bored and interested let me look it up for you

11.08 300zx 9311.32 m45 03

so it might be really close the hp to weight ratio is about the same

I may be late on this but I didn't see any results. I agree (if he is stock). Take the lead, have nuts, get in that thin air, and bury his ***.

the 93 300zxtt supposedly does 0-60 in 5.2 and 1/4 in 13.8, barely faster than an M if thats true. Get a good start and kick his A$$

hmmm fun thread. i executed a new 350z (non TT) when I first purchased my M, but I had the stock 18's on it, not the 20's I have to mention that he missed third gear by grinding, but he was behind me whole time. I refuse to give him another chance, especially with the 20's LOL

Hey, Do you know how much putting on 19's or 20's affect the 0-60 and quarter mile?

cars will go slower with heavy wheels. stock wheels are too heavy. i weighted wheel with the tire, it was 55 lbs. 235 45 18 tire is 25 to 26 lbs.i you want to faster get lighter wheels. enkei.com go to racing wheels and click on RPF1. then i think you M will beat the TT.

I got G35c wheels on my M right now. They are a whole lot lighter than the M wheels and look OEM to most people.

that i didn't know . what size are they and how much do they weigh?there is such a thing called unspun wheight. for every pound that you take off the wheel multiply that by 3 and that amount you take off the total weight off the car.so when i get enkei rpf 1 , they are 10lbs lighter x3 = 120lbs off the car, through away tire out off trunk that 55lbs. totall wheight will be 3851-175=3676. now we ready to do some kills for sure.thats what i aiming for.wheels may be not the best looking, but they are a real thing. they are the same style as f1 mersedes mclaren.

Interesting thread as I have both an 04 M45 and 93 300ZXTT. Here are pics of them both:

M

Z

Although my Z is pretty heavily modified; even with the boost controller turned off on the Z, the M feels no where as quick.

M's weigh what? About 4000lbs? That turbo Z weighs in at about 3200lbs, still heavy for a sports car but the power/weight ratio is definitely in favor of the Z. Also, stock Z32 wheels weigh about 16-17lbs (w/out tires), and with the gearing being different you will probably have to get quite a bit of a head start. If he has a chip upgrade as well (this could be there w/out you knowing) then you are toast for sure.

The Z32 is still an impressive vehicle, even by today's standards (although I am pretty biased) If he is concerned about blowing his engine, he either:

a. Has an existing problem already

or

b. Planned on running boost levels that would wipe the road with you but dangerous to his motor.

I know I would think twice about running a TTZ with my M, just a little insight from someone who knows both.

Later

I've had the M now for about a year. It was between it and an FX45, you don't see M's very much so I decided to go with it and haven't regretted it since....it's a great car.

I just got back from TN this past weekend where I drove it on the Tail of the Dragon where I took both those pictures. Click this link for some details behind the drive:

Great time and a definite thumbs up for the M!

some of you guys are outrageous look at this quote

"so when i get enkei rpf 1 , they are 10lbs lighter x3 = 120lbs off the car, through away tire out off trunk that 55lbs. totall wheight will be 3851-175=3676. now we ready to do some kills for sure.thats what i aiming for.wheels may be not the best looking, but they are a real thing"

have you ever seen those wheels?? Sickening for a M?? The M45 is not a track car?? It is a beautiful luxury car that is fast!! Those wheels belong on a honda or import car not a M45...do us all a favor please dont disgrace the M like that? If you want a track car...then buy one...if you want a nice looking luxury car that can smoke most of the cars on the road...welll you have one

i've driven turbo cars and they always feel faster because of the boost.the only way to find out is to line up! the m does'nt feel as fast as it really is because it has such a smooth ride unlike sports cars that have a much stiffer ride and make more noise. all i know is on the gtech pro i hit 0-60 in 5.4sec and i spun some rubber too!

Well if you're ever near the Ohio area let me know and I will be happy to run you, boost controller off of course .

If you really do have a Viper as well I would be happy to run that too, boost controller on for that one though.

And yet you're talking about racing with a 3900 lb car.

Plus, 9.20s in the 1/8th mile is not that impressive. J/K.

Wow, I can picture my next mods now..... an alcohol burning, blown big block sticking out of the hood with humongous slicks in the back. I can see 145 in the 1/8th then, lol.

You guys should duke it out in another thread.

Well I would love to take the 30 cars if you would be willing to give them.

My time is on the left of this slip:

So congratulatons, you're able to trap about 7mph and 1 sec faster than a car that weighs approximately 5-6 times heavier than your bike. You should be proud.
