Well, I was rear ended today on my lunch break. I am worried that after getting it painted that it won't match the rest of the car. The car is 4 years old so I am sure fresh paint won't match the 4 year old paint job. But i guess a body shop should be able to match the paint.

A good body shop will have no problem with that. Good Luck!

yeah make sure you go to a Good Body shop. I would not recomend the Nissan/Infiniti dealership for body work.

Ouch!

Yes, any good body shop ought to get close enough to do it right.

My car got rear-ended much worse than that (had to replace the bumper) - my wife was driving and got hit from behind by somebody who did not have insurance!

The body shop did a good job and if you did not know the bumper had been replaced, you could not tell.

Let me know if you need a new bumper....silver, but in good condition.

I have some serious bad luck. Well, once again, I was rear ended today on the same street about a 1 1/2 miles away from the accident I was in last week.

I was at a red light getting ready to get on the beltway then bammmm. It happened. Today has got to be one of my worst days in a very long time.

I was actually in Alexandria, VA both times. These 2 accidents have made me dislike my M. I wish I could get the insurance company to buy me another one with similar miles and color. I hope these 2 accidents dont show up on the car fax report. I'm sure it will reduce the value of my car.

That sucks! But wrecks always come in a row (in my IS300 I rear ended a lady, backed into my brothers car, then backed all the way down someones f-150 lol), but it could always be worse.... take a look at my old IS300 & TL-S

All within 6 months!!!D.

The rear quarters arent that bad. From the pics it just looks like bumper and support, most likely just minimal frame structure damage. If you need tail lights I have a set of perfect condition ones that I took off mine to use the LED ones. I will sell them real cheap if you want to pocket the rest the insurance will pay for new ones, lolcheersOh bad things happed before good things will, right????

exclusiveone: (TL-S) I was driving around 60mph on a country highway and the transmission slipped into second gear then locked up. I went sideways, now facing a house, then hit a trench and it flipped around 5 times, I remember blacking out on the second flip after hitting the arm rest w/my body then hitting the roof (think thats around the time I hit the window). My seatbelt broke off as well... I was lodged in the rear window they say, my friends watched the entire thing and kicked out the back window to get me out. Thank God one of my friends was an RN or I would've been dead. GO ACURA lol I was going to sue, but they crushed the car before I even received the check! That same week I had an appointment to have the 3rd transmission put in grr And the stop sign I hit while flipping over an entire road didn't stop me, what a waste lol

Auditech: Now I have an '06 M45 Sport so good times do come after the bad ones.

I just received some very disturbing news from the body shop. They said my car has undergone some very exstensive repairs in the past and they think they will not be able to fix the damamge caused by the person that rear ended me. When I bought this car a last month the car fax report was clear and nothing alarming was shown. If it has undergone some exstensive repairs wouldnt that show in the car fax report? They said I should come by the shop tomorrow so they can explain everything to me.

Anyone that has experienced anything like this please advise me on what I should do next. None of my friends or family members have gone through this before so they can not help.

from the carfax website:

"Accidents - Not all accidents are reported and not all reported accidents are included, but a substantial number are listed"

Let us know what the body shop says

Did you get this car from a dealer or a private party sale?

I just got back from the body shop and they said that can fix the car 100% but I will have to pay some out of pocket because Geico will not pay for any pre-existing damage. To fix the car 100% will be about an extra 5-6K. There are alot of things that he pointed that as a car buyer I overlooked. He showed me lots of overspray. If I knew about these types of things I would have never purchased the car.

I am going to start reviewing the Carfax website to see if they can buy back my car.

I was able to find a listing for my car on a website. They have taken it down everywhere except from here. I bought this car from a dealer in Fairfax, VA.

Sorry the listing is in spanish.http://abt.automoviles.aol.com...yland

Wow, What a coincidence. I got rear ended yesterday sitting at a stop light. I was hit at about 5 mph and the damage wasn't as bad as yours. tiny paint cracks and a slight indentation. Thank god he had insurance. It's going to cost $900 to replace and paint and install a new bumper. The guy looked at me like I was crazy when I told him we were going to have to get insurance involved. He was in a beat up 97 Ford Ranger. No damage to his truck. He will pay attention next time I guarantee you, or at least not hit a higher end vehicle.

Is anyone aware of a way to get the history of a car from a state or local government? According to the CarFax buy back gaurantee if something is reported but is not picked up by the CarFax report they will buy the car back. My only hope now is that the first owners accident was reported but wasnt picked up buy CarFax.

I spoke with Geico and they said that I would not get any more money because the shop that did the work the first time didnt do a good job.

I am so stuck. This is the worst thing that could happen.

The dealer said they purchased the car from Infinit Financial. I wonder if they know anything about the accident.

Silver lining; two insurance checks; one bumper to paint/replace...that should help!

Remember, if it wasn't 100% before (and you didn't notice), perhaps if you don't have the money you can get a slightly less perfect job that can be done at a later date. I had this option with my car, 8k to fix it perfectly, or 4k to make the door line up and not leak air/water(hit in the door...not a concern for you). Proper painting was to be a later concern. I elected to fix it 100%, and am now scrambling for the mortgage.

I'm sorry to hear about it man, best of luck to you.

Every Infiniti has an Infiniti dealer performed service history. Wise buyers always obtain this first before even looking at the car.

A leased car may have body damage repaired by a non-dealer and neither the dealer nor Car-Fax may know.

Would the dealer performed service history show information about the accident?
