You can reset that light without an OBD scanner, if you dare to learn the secret procedure ;-)
But the OBD device is easier, and people won't wonder what you're doing madly pumping the accelerator while parked in your car (this did happen to me at work, btw

)
I also have the fuel gauge problem, and have been getting the P0462 code, but until (IF) I get the cluster fixed, am not going to bother with the sending unit. It goes out after a while anyway, then comes back, etc etc. Just living with it for now.
Anyway, as info, here's how to read your code using just your hands and feet ;-)
(from the FSM, page EC-66):
1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
2. Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds.
a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the MIL starts blinking.
4. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
***If you've done it properly, the MIL will start to flash. You can read the error code(s) by counting the MIL light flashes (a "0" is indicated by 10 flashes, btw):
First digit is a slow count; 2-4th digits are a faster flash.
TO RESET:
1. Set ECM in Diagnostic Test Mode II (Self-diagnostic results). Refer to steps above.
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.
The emission-related diagnostic information has been erased from the backup memory in the ECM.
3. Fully release the accelerator pedal, and confirm the DTC 0000 is displayed.
cheers!
