So yesterday I accidentally washed the original electric M45 key, I tried to start my car but the ignition wouldn’t turn. I called a locksmith and had a new key cut and the key turns in the ignition but won’t start. Any ideas? Do I need to have the key reprogrammed again? Old key still locks and unlocks doors remotely just won’t turn in ignition. Heard it might be the NATS or whatever it’s called or the ecm or bcm.

Yes, sounds like a NATS issue. Older Nissan's with that system would randomly lose their NATS programming as well (happened to my 99 Maxima). Had to get it towed to Nissan and they reprogrammed it for like $85. This was back in like 2008 though.
