hello,i was gonna go to the 1/4 track, so i decided to practice launches and noticed that car wasn't pulling hard until it hits 2500 to 3000 rpm after it goes good.i have all tractions off. i try all kinds of ways to launch it, the same thing happens. i got really sticky tires on. when i punch it , it barely spins them i cant even do a brake stand or a donut with these tires. they are very good, but i think if i could spin them till 2500rpm at launches car would fly of the line.i will have to bring it to the dealer and try to test drive the car see what they say. any of you have sticky tires on ? if you do, how is your launches are? can you spin them of the line leave mark on the road at leas 2 feet.tires i have toyo t1 r on 9.5 with rims . thanks cuag.

Dam bro you cant even spell your name right! LOL, Im just messing with you. The dealership people will tell you that the car is fine. Again as a lot of people have said, I think the transmission is the weak point here. A higher stall torque converter would help us out a lot in this sense. These cars were never meant to race, ANY kind of racing, so the transmission is set up to run smoothly. And about spinning your tires, you said it yourself, you have soft compound "sticky" tires that are designed to prevent spinning. My advice, take it to the track and go from there. cheers

Not that I have tried on mine just yet, and not that ive driven an auto for ages...

but, you may want to hold the brake and get the RPM's up to around 3K before you do a drag racing type launch... The motor isnt going to open up until higher RPM's anyway... you will have to find the sweet spot...

But torque is what gets the car going from a dead stop and that seems to be what he is concerned about.

The best i got with this stupid trany 14.5 @ 98.21all the time when i launched it it had this slow motion feeling until it hits 3000rpm. car shifted after 6000rpm no problem there. reaction times not good all of them were around .550to 580. the same thing happens when i driver in manual mode for ex.i am in 1st gear driving around 2000 or2500rpm , it does not go good until 3000rpm. it works good at3000 and up.so i am not happy about it.if we could fix it ,car would go over 100mph in th 1/4 and high 13s. i will try to explain this to the dealer.wish me luck.

Seriously the dealer will laugh at you and I think it is a waste of time for you to go there. Your times are accurate with every car magazine time and online time that I have seen. It always come down to reaction time and if you heated up the tires enough to grab just a little better. I dont know what else you were really expecting from this heavy car.Cheers

You will not run 13s on a stock M45, period. Try after work on the exhaust and the intake and you MIGHT be where you want.

Drop in the rear end from a 300z and the car should get out of the hole much quicker.

I want to say 4.08 vs. 3.33. I'm not sure, but I think I'm close.

This thread didn't quite get the responses I was hoping for. I'm still not sure if you need a rear from a 300zx TT or NA or what the exact options we have.

I'll try to search more later.

my 60 ft 2.124, 330 ft 6.080, 1/8 9.325 75.07mph 1000ft 12.133 1/4 [email protected]. 1 tenth off your 60ft time equals 2 tenths off your quartermile time. if it makes you feel better you would have been around 14.30 with my 60 ft time. thanks for the reply
