The video is louder then what it really sounds like due to the garage amplifying the noise.

Nice and throaty though.

i checked out the dynomax webpage, thinking of "x flow" muffler dual inlet, will call them to see what they think.what model muffler you got? i just hope that without all 3 resonators it will be louder.it is v8,so it is o.k, not like a v6. so at cruising speeds you barely can here the difference, is that correct?

I put on the Ultra Flow Welded with Duel Outlet. I think they have any of those mufflers in what ever style you want. Duel Inlet and Outlet, Single etc.

I'm sure it will be louder and depending on which muffler you choose makes a difference.

Personally I like the way mine sounds. It sound sgood in real life. Nothing rediculous but it sounds like a V8 with an exhaust.

Highways speeds are nice no drone. I hear the motor more then the exhaust, unless punched, then you can hear soem growl.

Can't say about drone with a different muffler.

The guys at the shop swear by Dynomax and say they are bettter than Magnaflow or Flowmaster.

You will need some major pipe work and bends done to get duel inlets. It's tight under there.

k&n works on my car , it showed on the dyno.more air is always better.if you use new k&n out of the box no oil will get on the mass air sensor or the dirt in the engine.if you being cheap and try to clean filter and re-oil the thing that is the first mistake, to save stupid 40 or 50 bucks.i had k&n filters in all of my cars and never did that stupid thing with cleaning and always cars perform in top notch. just buy new one.

so lets stop warring about k&n even if it will get a little more dirt in it i guess some people might say.

again if use new one every time it will never happen.

it is a car and how is gonna keep it more the 10 years.

enjoy it for a few years, beat the hell out of it and get rid of it.get new one faster.cars are toys nothing else. i had mine only one year , put 20k on it and i am ready for a new one that does not rattles like hell.only 12,15k took me to do this. i guess week frame this car has. this is the most expensive car i had too.

that is my take on infiniti. good luck to whoever it my concern.caug.

Note to self, don't buy a car from him haha. A car should be treated like a baby, not a toy!

I've consulted with my service people here at infiniti and they advised me to stay away from modifying my intake, but on the other hand the service dept here has a wall of aftermarket parts including intakes for the G's.

Now, to stay on the topic... NMGood - have you noticed any shift in MPG or is it too soon to forecast?

mi apologizes(sp) if you've already answered this, so just reach out to the west and slap me two times

Now that you mention it this is my first full tank since I had this done and so far the answer is yes. I'm at half a tank right now and the computer is measuring 17.9 average and that is in city only with my heavy foot. I usually average 16.4 So, yes so far I have noticed a difference.

Car is much tourquier and quicker off the line, but when punched at cruising speed it takes a second to kick in.

Yea, I'm not changing to a K&N. The ram air set up the car has is just fine and the OEM filter is probably the best there is right now for the set up. I might drive my car hard sometimes but I take very good care of it as it is paid for and my baby. I have perfect service records and the only issue I ever had was the gas gauge thing and I took care of that.

The last thing I'm doing is the Junction Produce wing and put a one inch drop (if I can ever find springs) and change the tips on my exhaust to a fatter rolled edge instead of the aggressive slant tips I have on there now.

Interestingly enough, our track opens March 15th. Me and a few friend sare heading out there just for fun to run our cars a few times. I have a buddy who has a 545 and just keeps talking smack about how he can beat me by 7 car lengths I know I will probably lose that race but not by 7 car lengths. He's on crack unless he has NOS or something. Ive ridden in hi scar before and wasn't that impressed with the performance. Then he said he had a chip and now he doesn't have a chip but magically all the sudden he has an exhaust I'm being very humble and just saying yea, your going to beat me but let's just do it for fun.

Exactly how I feel about my car too. Now, almost five years for me and almost 60k miles (going in for the 60k stuff next week), I am still pleased as punch with the car and plan to to keep it for as long as I can!

Good deal! Hmmmmmmm. I think I was under the impression back in the day from something I read from you that stated otherwise, but if I would’ve have known you were interested in lowering your car I would thrown those eibachs your way for a small price of $775.00 <-- joke , but unfortunately I was at the point of no return with them on Ebay (major- major production to say the least) but, anyhow. I've since cut them into little pieces(sp) melted them down and made a neclace out of them for me and my lady. So, 3-15-08 is when the speedway opens, huh? Keep me posted, because I’d love to see that. The BMW 545 is @ 325-hp with a 5.6 seconds to 60 mph, so that seems neck and neck with the M, unless he has some chip work.

You are correct. I have stated in the past that lowering was not an option unless it was on bags. But that's a lot more expense than I want to spend. From what I've seen, the spring lowering has grown on me, and I wanted to wait awhile and see if anyone started experiencing long term problems.

I don't expect to beat the Bimmer at all, but I'll be damned if he beats me by 7 car lengths in the 1/4, chipped or not.

You can probably sell that necklace more on ebay then the springs.

Oh, and I will be removing the full chrome spare, leaving a 1/4 tank of 93 octane, and making sure I have a bowel movement before

LOL yes!! A good BM is mandatory before a big race.

Have you decided on tips for the new exhaust and may I suggest: Guaranteed 5-7 more Caballos.

…but serious, any new tips yet?

Thank god I read the sarcasm tags around that. I might as well put on those whistlers that go Whooo Whooo!

I haven't had time yet to look at tips. The thin chrome agressive angle ones that are on there now are growing on me since no other M has them.

I'll just have to see.

BTW, BMW boy is not answering emails, texts, or returning phone calls.
