Congradulations, you now begin to PAY for dealer repairs since you chose to not purchase an extended warranty from Nissan to 7 yrs/100k.

May be something simple like a loose connection [rare] or defective sensor. Was the M ever in an accident?

Use the Consult II/III to read codes which will pinpoint problems and solutions. Download the multi thousand page factory service manual and TSB and check for short cuts in diagnosis and resets.

Why I love the old 90-93 Q only 1 airbag and no seat belt explosive pretensioners.

tell that to your children after funeral of their mother after your cuts/bruise/burns from your air bag deployment during the crash that took the life of their mother!

I dunno ...

Having been in an accident (head-on), I can tell you that the seat-belt (which I and my passengers always wear and keep tight) worked completely well enough in my case, that the front airbag was not needed at all.

All that the air bag deployment did (I did not impact it at all since I sit well back in my car!) was create a large puff of corn-starch(?) and chemicals right in front of my face ... that I ended up inhaling after I took a deep breath (my chest was compressed by the seat belt). I almost choked to death on that crap!

I do wish that they was a way for the air-bag to not deploy, if the seat belt is on and is tight. Waste of money in low speed collisions too!

4 point racing harness and helmet attached to strong roll bar will beat air bag every time unfortunately this setup deletes the rear seat.

I've been hit head on twice at speeds > 60 mph in the past 40 years and survived both mostly intact, 4 people didn't. In both cases they were drinking.I get nervous on every highway without a center median..........too many drift from cellphone and inattention.

I rarely allow passengers in my Q for any entended period without them presigning a collision damage waiver no children allowed period.

One should always have a separate reinforced car for passengers.
