I took my car to a shop to get the transmission rebuilt because sometimes it would get stuck in first gear and the SES light comes on. I would then have to turn the car off and erase the codes then the car will run fine. Anyways after i get the transmission rebuilt again i still have the problem. I bring it back to the shop since the work was still under warranty. They sent my car to an electrician? To check if there was any shorts with any of the wires going to and from the transmission. After about almost 3 weeks they call me in to get my car. They tell me that they couldnt fix the problem and that they either need more time or willing to give me my money back. So i told them ill take the money and he had me write something up saying that im satisfied with their service since they are giving me my money back. After that is when they told me that not only did they not fix the original problem but now my display screen is black, the a/c doesnt work, the radio doesnt work, the tilt steering and driver side seat controls only works when the car is off once you put the key to the ON position they cant be controlled, and the instrument cluster does not light up. I figured whoever they sent it to took my car apart and didnt put it all back correctly. The shop also told me to go and get it fixed and they will pay for it. Some of the lights on the buttons on the dash does light up but very dim compared to before but none of the buttons work. Is there a wiring diagram? Or is there a way to tell if they might shorted one of the modules? I checked all the fuses and none are blown. I even tried to replace the a/c relay.

Holy mess! That is one clusterF they got you in. First, I'm curious if the rebuild was based off any codes. Was a TCM (transmission control module) swap attempted?
We had a thread here recently where the poster had some transmission issues caused by corroded plugs on the rebuilt unit, so an electrician isn't out of the question. However, if a rebuild comes with the same symptoms I had originally, I'd personally jump to another part of the equation.

This doesn't sit well with me.

Anyway, to the problem at hand, if some things were not working, period, then I'd see if some ground points were missed when the dashboard or its panels were reinstalled. Your stuff being intermittent sounds like rewired/reprogrammed modules. The dim bulbs, would be messed up or shorted wires.

I really don't know what wires they needed to troubleshoot the transmission with from inside the cabin. One bundle of wires splits at the back of the engine to the transmission, so unless I was going for the TCM, I wouldn't deal with the inside.
Yes, there is a wiring diagram. It is in the FSM under the transmission section.

I personally wouldn't go through the trouble though. Since they offered to do the right thing and pay for you to get these extra problems fixed, I'd take the car to an Infiniti dealership and let them work on it.

I forgot exactly what codes but one for sure was p1772. I wanted to get it rebuilt because i figured i will be keeping the car and they have the transmission apart to just go ahead and replace all the parts inside. Only the SES and being stuck in first gear is intermittent. The a/c and radio doesnt come on at all anymore. And the tilt steering and driver seat only works with the car off. I will probably bring it to the dealership when i get a chance. I just hate going there.
