thanks tdot. I usually just go to crutchfielddotcom, I just select outfit my car, and it usually gives me all the speaker sizes etc but when I try it this time for Y35 it says "we havent fully researched your car yet" lol darn tried the same for sonicelectronixdotcomTDot wrote:I just checked the av fsm...2008...and didn't see any size spec, so unless they changed the need for this, I don't think it will be there for his. I think it is "field" service manual...just a guess.
Actually I was going to just continue to use the Bose amplifier to power them.sebvox wrote:Are you changing out the Bose amplifier? I put in a new JL audio sub in the deck with an additional amp off the Bose amp. It works good.
When you canged the speakers were you able to just do it by swapping the new speakers in and nothing else? and did they sound much better with the same stock amp? I was told that there is a different process when changing the interior speakers because they have amps separately or something of that nature.Just wanted to know for sure before I replaced mineSoThrowedMex wrote:the subwoofer is a 10" front door speakers are 6.5 back door speakers are 6.5 as well for anyone needing to know in the future.
I swapped them out, and had to use the round portion baffle boards of the factory so it would fit flush.Dicemoney6 wrote:When you canged the speakers were you able to just do it by swapping the new speakers in and nothing else? and did they sound much better with the same stock amp? No I have the Infiniti Kappa line. They sound loud, but unfortunately I still have the factory radio.Dicemoney6 wrote:Thanks! You have the infinity reference interiors? How do they sound, I recently ordered them and this pioneer 5 channel amp http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Amplifiers/GM+Digital+Series/GM-D9605 . I have an old Pioneer sub in the 10 spot, I was going to purchase the Infinity Reference 10 but I figured I would wait until I got the interiors and amp installed to see if it was worth changing because I don't want to much rattling from the sub. The shop told me they would hushmat it to make it sound better. I plan on installing everything myself to see if I can make everything sound good and save some money. Did you replace your stock radio? If so did you lose the steering wheels controls? I have a double din installed and still have the volume control from the steering wheel but the shop told me, I would lose the steering control if I replace the amp because everything is tied into the amp, wasn't sure if they were correct, that's why I am asking
oh ok cool, thanks for responding. Guess I will just have to wait to test it out. Yes I did swap the factory display and put the double din up top, check out my video https://youtu.be/WDRqZwsliOgSoThrowedMex wrote:No I have the Infiniti Kappa line. I wasn't aware that you could swap it out. Did you pull out your gps display and put the radio in there?
Man I saw your Youtube video. Looks cool man, had no idea that this could be done. I never personally measured the Double Din but figured it was too wide. Seems to fit good in your din. I have a double din pioneer radio that I can install just like that too then.oh ok cool, thanks for responding. Guess I will just have to wait to test it out. Yes I did swap the factory display and put the double din up top, check out my video https://youtu.be/WDRqZwsliOg

Seems like a lot of work. Did you do it yourself or have the shop you mentioned do it for you?
