Hey guys, I am new as you can see. Just needing some information pertaining to my 2003 Nissan Z Touring.

I hit a deer this morning but I can say that it didnt really cause all that much damage, however, I do need to replace my passenger side headlight including bulbs etc.

My car does come with HID's as I know that some models do not.

My driver side headlight is untouched and nothing is wrong. My insurance is covering the paint & body work aswell as replacing my passenger headlight & bulbs.

Question..

I want to replace my driver side headlight enclosure aswell that way both headlights are brand new.. I have seen places where you can get the OEM enclosure without bulbs for decently cheap.
Nissan stealership told me that the enclosure comes with everything needed no matter where you get it because its all one application?

Can I buy JUST a headlight encloser for 03-05 regardless of HID or Halogen? then pop my old bulbs in the new enclosure.

Or do I have to buy an actual HID enclosure because I have the high intensity headlights. Wasnt sure if they are made differently etc.

I basically just want to swap out my good bulbs into a new headlight enclosure.

ANY help would be appreciated

You can find them pretty cheap on amazon or ebay, you'll have to transfer the the old components of your old lights to the new assemblies (ballast etc, that's if they come off. I have a base model so mine never came with the factory hid's, I'm not to sure what it looks like.)

Or you can just order a new pair of headlight assemblies along with a brand new hid kit. (H7)

I'm guessing you don't want to have mismatched headlight covers; one that's scarred from road debris and the other that's unmarked. The other otion you have is to check local salvage yards for a low mileage Z with an intact light . Maybe you can find a car that had a deer strike (or parking meter, car, fire hydrant, etc...) from the side opposite yours.
