hi - i bought a used 2003 G35 two weeks ago and while i love the drive, i'm having a problem with the stereo and temperature controls on the dashboard - they don't work occaisionally.

i can still control the stereo with the steering wheel controls, but the buttons on the stereo itself don't work and neither do the temp controls.

Any advice on what i should do / has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks!

I can only speculate that there may be a problem with the board behind the button. It's pretty cumbersome to get to on the 03-04, but I think initially, a visual inspection may be necessary. If there is any warranty left, I'd take it in.

I too have just started experiencing the same issue. Did you resolve the issue or bring it into the dealer.

Anyone else experience this issue. TUrn engine on, Climate control locks in to Auto/AC blowing towards the feet and stays on. No controls work, including the radio contriols (except controls onthe steering wheel).

Any suggestions or resolution to simlar problem???

Having the same problem w/ my 2003 G-35 (i.e. auto/AC lock and on all the time; radio or A/c controls not working). Infiniti dealer quote $400.00+ to repair(?) the radio. Replacing the circuit board is the solution? If yes, can I do it myself or I need PhD in mechanics.I'll appreciate any help

This is a website that I found that fixes bose stuff. You may want to consider repairing the radio first. There is always aftermarket...but that can get pricey with the G35 due to the integrated AC/console.

Hello Everyone Please let me introduce myself; I am George Britz with Short Circuit. I was wondering if someone could assist me in spreading our services in the G35 forum world. To give you an idea of whom we are Short Circuit services radio units for over 500 Nissan dealerships and over 100 Infiniti dealerships nationwide. All repairs we do are backed with a one year warranty. We will repair these units for $250, which is an exclusive NICO member offer. (Includes shipping and packaging) and we are also a clarion certified service center. I would like to offer a single G35 repair for $125. In order to receive the discount, you have to be a NICO member and I would like a full review/testimonial on his/hers experience with us (whether good or bad) from the person we repair the unit for, to be posted on a forum. It is my goal to validate our services and prove that we are a company worth using. If you’d like to accept this offer please post on the forum that you will be the Short Circuit’s Guinea Pig, this way this allows others to know this offer is already taken. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,George

Anyone have a diagram on where the circuit board is, and/or have a guide on how to replace the board?

George, you may want to contact the owner of this site if you wish to get members to take you seriously. We firmly support our sponsors and do not allow companies to simply sell on NICO. I will leave your full post up for now.

Clarion will not sell any boards of there products, we have been trying to get them for years. Clarion will only sell the components of the board. So if you are good with electronics and know the values of each component with a schematic you can figure which are bad.

Thankfully I had my stereo and board all replaced just before my warranty ended....

Have had no problems since.

I hope that there is an easy, inexpensive solution out there.

Hey George,

I fell into your facilities last week, by accident. Doing sales calls and met with someone at the front desk.

I would be interested in your offer and more than willing to be a spokesperson for your services.

Just recently goined Nicoclub and wanted to take advantage of your offer.I am local to your San Jose facility, and could bring in my G35 stereo with the problem discribed in this forum. Let me know if I could be your Guinea pig.

This might be the cheapest solution/fix to the problem. +1 for people who want to do that.

If you are looking to upgrade your stereo (and I'd recommend that if you can afford it) I would get the JDM finisher piece and the HVAC controls that come with it. Better sound quality and the installs can happen simultaneously.

Tips on taking the dash apart:

It is pretty straight forward to take the left/right sides out and get to the center finish piece. The center console with the Shift knob is pretty simple as well. Just be careful to unplug all controls and remember where they go when you take it out.

The tricy part is that you must take out the plastic dash piece that houses the infiniti clock and HVAC screen. All you have to do is pull that out.

this is the passenger side. (drivers side requires much less work)

this is the console removed (notice the air vents are no longer attached, just snap in/out)

this is the backside where the circuit board is
