Hey Guys,

New here posting, but i've been on this forum for a long time. Anyhow, I picked up a '03 G35 Sedan (auto) canadian model without any warranty and I noticed from the get go that it smokes on startup. Didn't notice it on the test drives because it virtually stops smoking once it's warmed up.

Anyway, I got a certified infiniti mechanic to change the valve cover gasket as he was adamant this should be the issue as he's seen it on other models, changed the plugs, pcv, oil e.t.c. as well.

He said after around 3-4 days, the residual oil left in the exhaust should fully dissipate and stop smoking. The smoking continues after around 5 weeks later and I try to only drive the car as i have to and still consumes quite a bit of oil. I found this post here which I feel closer to what the actual issue is because it smokes mostly on cold starts.

I'm going back to the mechanic or another one for a certified 2nd opinion, but wanted to see what others here might think about the issue? Thanks
