I am having a DVD ROM read error issue with my navi unit and have gone through all of the checks per the shop manual (hold down map and the D/N button for 5 seconds to get into this mode, but be carefull of what you change). I have tried another disc as well to eliminate that it is a disc issue. Is it possible that the lens needs to be adjusted? Can it be adjusted like (for example) the old Playstation 2 lasers? On some laser units there is a small screw inside the unit to calibrate the angle of the lens. Has anybody else here had that issue? What was done to resolve it? Thanks for any input.

Welcome to NICO!

Sounds like your DVD drive failed (either the drive or the laser). You may have to replace...

You can try contacting these guys:

http://www.shortcircuitrepair.com/

I know they fix head deck...not sure on the DVD NAV stuff.
