'03 G35 Navi Modifications

I was wondering if anyone has been able to modify the navigation dvd player to play movies, regular dvd's, or get the pop up screen to show anything other that just navigation and standard features (fuel eco, warnings, etc.). Is it a wiring mod, hardware mod, or something else? I searched the forums for about an hour but didn't see this question brought up anywhere. Has anyone been able to get movies to play on the navi screen?
