Hi All,

I have a '03 G35 coupe and the upholstery located in the rear on the side below the rear quarter window keeps coming loose. I have repeatedly wedged it back in to the crease with a flat screw driver but it keeps coming undone and flops down. I'm thinking of using glue or an adhesive. Any suggestions on the type of glue to use or other suggestion to keep it from coming undone? Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I'll just bring it in to an auto upholstery shop.

Thanks!

Hey there...I just registered here at NICO...but I wanted to say that I am having the exact same problem in my 03 Coupe. No matter how many times I tuck the piece back into it's crevice, it manages to creep out and continue to sag. Additional adhesive is definitely needed but I haven't found something that I feel comfortable applying yet.

I've heard of this happening...I'd take it to the dealer and have them fix it...should only take a min.

I've never done this, but maybe use double sided tape?

I HAVE used glue before on another car and it soaked right through the carpet and hardened the whole thing into a big mess.

Maybe spray adhesive is the way to go since it tends not to be so "wet". Whatever you do, I wouldn't use a lot of it though.

seeing how i did endless amounts of these i'll chime in..

first off they are a beoytch to change. this is a very common problem. the whole rear quarter panel has to be replaced. if you are under warranty take it to the dealer. if not...call and ask the dealer how much it is. they aren't hard to change...just not fun. if you don't have warranty i guess i would suggest maybe super glue on the back?

my left rear is doing the same on my 03 sedan.. i had a friend that works at a high end custom car shop (or whatever you call it) fix it really quick when we were out one night (not in the shop.. just with his hands and my headband) but it looks good as new.. i'd say if it's not under warranty just do it carefully or find an upholstery person / custom shop to do it... it only took him a minute
