03 G35 coupe Question re: Key & Dash Light

Help! I bought my son a used G35 from a non-Infinite dealer. They only had ONE key (not the intelli-key as far as I can tell, cause it looks different from keys I've seen in pics in the forum) Anyway, I'm a girly-girl with no husband and so this may be a stooopid question...but can I get a key made that will at least open the door in case he locks the keys inside? The nearest Infinite dealer to me will be 100+ miles round trip and will charge me $260 for a new key. Surely there is an easier (cheaper!) answer!! My 2nd question - his washer fluid low light came on and we replaced the fluid, but now the light won't go off. Any suggestions?? The car is so cool and of course he loves it and I love it too! Thanks very much for any help! This is a great forum and I've spent about an hour just reading threads!

If I were you I would go right back to the dealer and demand the smart key,and have them fix the washer warning light or have them take back the vehicle If I understand you correctly you cannot activate the alarm, or remotely open the doors and trunk without this remote?

One of the first questions I asked the Infiniti sales person when shopping for my G35 was "is it possible to lock the vehicle with the engine running"?Yes you can but you do it with the key in the ignition & take the remote with you to lock the vehicle. I do this in the morning while getting my coffee

I assume you can no longer do this with the new vehicles with the push button start?

Worst case if you do not wish to return the vehicle is you may have to eat the cost of the remote.
