Just about all Nissan ECM's get their ignition signal from the crank sensor, and when they "lie" to the ECM without flatlining you often won't get codes. It's also not uncommon for them to misbehave with temperature. You can check it with a streaming scanner, the engine speed should show 200+ RPM's steady while cranking. If the reading is intermittently flatlined or bouncing all over when the car misbehaves, you found your culprit.
