03-05 Coupe seat belt...

We all know that the seat belt on the G35 sucks...this thread isn't about the seat belt cutting into your neck.

On the 05, there is an adjuster that lowers down to allow people into the rear seats. When fully up, this adjuster rubs on the top portion of the seat. (there is a plastic part that moves slightly towards the front) The sound is driving me CRAZY!!! Does anyone have a solution (besides lowering the seat). Can I remove this part somehow? It actually leaves an indent in the seat where it rubs which cant be good. I assume this is why they changed the design in 06...Please help!

haven't looked at an '05...but i can tell you the '06 is probably no better. belt still rubs on my neck...and is always coming out of it's holder on top of the seat! hope the '08 coupe is better ...

Hey Joe,

I have the exact same problem and unfortunately I do not have a solution. I have had them take my door panel off twice now and add padding because I thought that was where the noise is coming from.

I have recently narrowed the noise to the piece you are referring to OR the clothes hanger in the back that flips in and out.

There is nothing I hate more than rattles in a car, especially a $40K car. Let me know if you figure out a solution.

I am with you Joe ..... it is driving me nuts .... hard to accept in a vehicle of this price and stature ....
