Get a new one. Cheaper on line than at dealer. Very easy to replace.

Most definitely ... plus I don't think they are washable! You can get them from http://www.everythinginfiniti.com.

That looks like the one (#4). I did exactly what you stated earlier; I cleaned it with cleaning solution / compressd air & sun dried it. All is good

If the stinkification occurs only when you run the AC, then the problem may not be the filter. Try turning on the ventilation without the AC (heat, for example), and see if it still smells.

AC units can cause smell in cars because the condensation builds up and allows mold and other things to grow, causing the stink. The good news is that the easiest fix I've found is one or even two cans of Lysol disinfectant. You turn on the AC on high and stand outside the car (the car should not be moving, note). Spray the Lysol into the air inlet at the base of the windshield.

Goodbye, stinkies!

Good luck!

I was told that it was a pain to get to this filter and that it was better to let them. I am handy but have not seen a thread of how to change the ac filter on m45 04.

Just over $30 from Joe and the gang, and that is without this month's additional 10% discount.

Consult the FSM to see how easy it is to change.

This is really easy to change. On your 04, it is located behind the glovebox. Open the glove box, and remove the hanging strap that holds the door opening all the way. Then in the back of the glove box, there will be a black plastic cover to remove to access the filter.
