Gents,

I've got a 99 Q with 207,000. Absolutely love the car, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth and I am intrigued by the 03-04 M45s. I've read a mess of reviews on Edmunds and other sites but have not dug into this forum yet.

It sounds as though it had some of the same oil consumption issues as the late model Q45s. Was there ever a fix for this problem?

Can you buy aftermarket shocks for this thing?

Do these cars have an Achilles heel that I ought to know about in advance?

I do a ton of highway driving and love the feel of the Q. So I figure the M would be very similar.

Thanks for any input.

You can mod the aftermarket coilovers for y34, and I think there are few brands out there that make a specific setup.

Oil consumption is pretty much on all 03-04 models, I just add about 1 qrt every 2k miles. A side from broken fuel gauge that Infiniti has a recall on, there are not that many problems. I personally had issues with the drivers side window motor, had to replace twice, and the particular maintenance issues, radiator, alternator, starter, ac motor, trunk shock absorbers, battery.

If you find a low mileage clean unit, I would go for it.
