Honestly, you really are better off saving the money in a high yield money market than you would spend on a monthly basis for the warranty. I wish I would have done that. It just seems like they make it cheap enough to get, but barely worth the costs. I have the platinum 48k miles or 24 months. I have not used it and I am close to being through it entirely. I paid about what you list above....in my opinion it is a rip off.DRIPS wrote:I have been quoted 2100 bucks for an extended warranty. I have 60k on my 03. That was a full coverage warranty. I decided to take the chance...
Was that from the dealer or another source?THT wrote:I'm buying it with my 04 even though it only has 22k miles. It's only $1,800 for a $100 deductible that covers for 5yrs or 75k miles. If any of the electrical stuff goes bad, it will be expensive to fix and I won't be able to do myself.
I paid about 1500 inclusive of taxes for mine for 3yrs, 48k, 0 deductible.THT wrote:I'm buying it with my 04 even though it only has 22k miles. That's a really good deal from your CU! Mine quoted me $2000 for 4yr/48k warranty that does not cover the CD changer... I'm hoping the Infiniti dealer will step up and offer me a better deal. Does anyone know if the extended warranty from the dealer is price-negotiable?jadeM45 wrote:$1350 for 5yr 60k mile from the credit union and it has already paid out $2600 in claims. Did you know it costs like $1400 to replace your CD changer? I do!
You may well get lucky and may well be right. One those "YMMV" situations ...sr79labrat wrote:Honestly, you really are better off saving the money in a high yield money market than you would spend on a monthly basis for the warranty. High yield money market fund is a oxymoronsr79labrat wrote:

That is relative to what a CU would pay. Check it out for yourself. http://www.bankrate.com rates vs your local banks. It should be an oxymoron though! hahaGJEMD wrote:

It was me with the CD changer, not saying I paid it though. That is what the warranty company paid to have it replaced. To date my warranty has paid out about $2600. This included replacing the CD changer, replacing a light control module and replacing the gauge cluster and fuel sending unit. I paid $1350 for the warranty so i am about $1250 to the good. With the warranty I got the whole engine and transmission are covered too, except the throttle body for some reason.sr79labrat wrote:
Did someone actually say they spent $1600 on a CD player??? That is NUTS!!! It could actually stay on and be messed with while driving.
So you are the first that I have known to get moreout if it than it costs. I guess I need to start having problems with my car. hahajadeM45 wrote:

Wow...they're the guys who quoted me $1,800 for my fully loaded 04 with 22K on it.nicad2000 wrote:Just for the public knowledge, I was quoted $2271 by Scottsdale for 4yr/48k with $100 deductible for a '03 with 42k. Considering this car doesn't have the nav I'm going to take my chances....
It's a conspiracy... I'm sure it was due to the mileage differential though, and they didn't even ask whether I had nav or not. It sounded as though any '03 within the 40k-50k bracket would be the same price.THT wrote:
