first post here, I've done a lot of searching all morning but cant seem to find what im looking for. i have an auto 350z that i want to convert to manual. i have a whole engine set i want to swap in. my question is, is it really as hard as everyone says? i should be able to swap all the parts over and bypass the nats on the manual ecm and have with no issues correct? will an auto ecm plug work with a manual ecm?

list of parts i have from a manual z
ecm
motor and transmission with mounts
engine/transmission harnesses
drive line
gauge cluster
diff
center console
clutch pedal assembly with res
clutch line
exhaust

little background history i built a 240 with a vq last year, i bypassed the nats and shorted out the clutch pedal sensor so im assuming i can do the same this time around.

i could not find one person that has completed this swap everyone says to just trade for a manual car but i believe i have all the parts i need and im a DIY guy.

any input is much appreciated

Hi Double Z,

Can't help with your 350Z but I have question about your Z conversion.

I have a Series I 240Z with 185K on the original engine. I always thought it would be neat to buy a totaled G35 or G37 to source a modern drive train. I figure having all the electronics and wire harnesses from the donor car would be a big plus.

Could you give some dope on performance and any major snags in your conversion?

i had a wrecked car so i took a lot of parts from it. fuel pump, chassis harnesses, dash and gauges, misc engine pars, wiper motor. my only problem was i forgot to ground a plug and the car went into limp mode...i had the nats removed and it fired up. it was a track car so i never wired up lights or air.

So how did the 2400 lb car perform?

Did you modify the front springs/ suspension?
