Good news bad news:

I bought 1" nylon bushings for the front bar from Energy Suspension. It is a universal produt.

yeah you know whats comin'!!!!!!

NOT THE 02Q45 Universe!!!!

we have a relatively unique bushing and braket:

here is a universal bushing:

and here is a pic of the sway bay and the braket unbolted:

Ok, good news:because there is SO little bushing in the bracket (never seen one so skinny, there is not a lot of flex happening there. so probably not a lot of gain using nylon anyway. just use a new factory rubber.

REAR sway bar:

3/4 inch and a universal bracket. I had the wronge size and had to re-order.the rear bar is pathetic. I'm going to look at some M's to see if the rear bar might swap out.also the rear bushing has more material so a nylon bushing will show some small improveemnt.

I'll now more next week.

What do you mean by "pathetic?"

It would be worth your while to read Q45Tech's old posts on the G50 series sway bar combinations to learn about the theory behind anti sway bars. When 1mm of thickness is significant, it's important to have real numbers to know what you're trying to acomplish and how to get there. From what I can tell, it's all about the ratio between the front and rear bar stiffness, so minute changes in either has a substantial impact on the other end of the car's handling.

Why would anyone want a stiffer front sway bar as it just increases UNDERSTEER and adds tire overload.Obviously a stiffer rear bar/mount or a less stiff front is the way to go if increased slalom performance is desired.

Fitting higher load index PS2 or Pilot Sports [or any ultra fast wearing soft tire] will do much more than any suspension change on stock tires.

do higher load and faster wear go hand in hand?

Heath, you mean testing!!??? wow, I just got slapped around really hard for suggesting testing.

Wes, its actually round, I was at a bad angle.

Thanks all for the advise, So the default is to work on the rear

Common for front bars to be slanted/tapered or bent..........not perfectly parallel across the few inches of the bushing............why oem is rubber to allow motion.

I see it all the time when people try to use urethane and they bind or sweak.
