Just checked my tires.. and all 4 are wearing heavily on the inside.. is this a common problem w/ the q.. got the same as original tires (michelin 245-45-18)? ..Discount Tire says I have 4/32 on front and 6/32 left on rears..Do I replace tires first then alignment or alignment then tires.. obviously sounds to me like a 4 tire alignment is required. In the meantime.. I now have the "pit" coming up on screen everytime I start telling me rotation is due.. is there a simple way to cancel this out or do I need a special code/tire retailer to do this for me?Thanks for any input!Haggis

Purchased the car w/ 89k on it.. now it has 92.. guess you could say I didnt inspect the tires thoroughly as wear is strictly on inside.. I have no records of the tire/alignment history.. just sounds a bit odd that all 4 tires would be wearing on inside.. ?Thanks

Simple to cancel "pit" just press "info" and go to maintenance menu. Press 'tire rotation' and 'reset' the number of miles and enter the new mileage for your next schedule tire rotation.

Replace your tires and then alignment.

Good luck!

you need to download a FSM field service manual.also, there is an "info" button in the middle console.look in the owners book. It is used to reset the intervals.but if it's been set on the same interval 3750 miles, since new, then it's time to rotate the tires.no special codes...just reading the manual.

Mark is correct. Tires are rotated or flipped every 3,750 miles at each oil change.

I would either buy the tires from tire rack and than find an alignment place or take it to a place that can sell the tires and do the rotation at the same time. I like Discount tire but they don't do alignments and you can get way better prices from http://www.tirerack.com, I buy all my tires now from the rack. First you get a better price and second no tax as they come from Nevada. Then find a place that can do mount and find a guy to do alignment. Look up Jerry Tucker, his shop is in San Diego and he's the go-to guy in SD from what the Diego people on this board say.

Those tires either way are completely toasted so replacement is a must, your cars stopping power is greatly diminished from what it will be with new rubber.
